The 2nd round of Alpe Adria Cup 2014 (AAC 2014) was held in Cervignano (IT). The weather forecast was very mixed, but at the end no rain disturbed the event.

I started with my usual set-up of the new RX8 2014, with some testing focused on wheel axle position. We found a very solid basis using the standard position (center), since the car behavied more nuetral and predictive. Then we tested a couple of engines in different qualification heats and also making some changes to the car. I was able to set TQ with also making the fastest lap.
For the final we decided to narrow the car in the rear and to use a little softer springs both in fron and rear. The car felt nice in the 3min warm-up before the final, although missing some mid corner steering, but we didnâ™t have time to test more. The final was quite easy, because I put a solid gap to 2nd placed Nejc Mihelič and also with his 6min refueling strategy I had anough space to allow 1 more stop. Then Nejc made a mistake and I also started to cruise till the end. I was also a little lucky, because since I was also organizing the event (doing time-keeping when I was not driving...), I forgot to refresh the clutch and the bearings broke the final 5min of the race, but the REDS engine didnâ™t stop.

In 1/10 Touring class Fabio Callegari took the win with his XRAY NT1 in front of Vladimir Knehtl and Gabor Laszlo (XRAY NT1). So, a clean sweep for XRAY cars !!!
So, it was more or less a perfect race with TQ, fastest lap of the race and win. Now, we are focused on future test for the EC-A in Austria.
